31 Days

Hello Cheshire Democrats!

Thanks to all of you who took the time to join us at our office warming party last Tuesday. We had a wonderful turnout, a terrific speaker in Billy Shaheen and some delicious food. (write up on bluehampshire)

There are some upcoming events that we wanted you to know about:

Monday October 4th at 6:00 P.M. General meeting for the Cheshire Democrats at our office located at 67 Emerald Street in Keene. Please come and muster friends as well and help us and all the campaigns to plan for the last weeks before the November election.

Wednesday October 6th will be Cheshire Democrats night to help at The Community Kitchen–please help! If you are able to come, please let Ann Heffernon know ahead of time. Hours are 4:30 to 7:00 P.M.–or the best you can do–which is always appreciated and needed.

Don’t forget! The Co-ordinated campaign needs all of us to assist in an y way we can! Please give Cynthia a call and she will provide you with information about phone banks, lit drops and canvassing. All of the campaigns are now working out of our office on Emerald Street.

Let us hear from you! We look forward to seeing you all (a lot)! over the next few weeks.

Gratefully,
Ann Heffernon and the Board of the Cheshire County Democrats

5×3 = Democratic Victory

The time for action has come.

As of today there are just 5 weeks left before the 2010 “Mid-Term” elections. NH is once again on the front-lines of our nation’s electoral battles with several key races being watched closely as they may effect the balance of power in both in Concord, and in Washington D.C.

Our formula for success is 5 x 3.

If each of us volunteer for five 3-hour shifts of direct voter contact over the next 5 weeks we will elect Democrats up and down the ticket to represent us in Concord and Washington D.C.. This will help to protect important majorities and insure the change we voted for in 2008 will continue.

Ann Kuster has built broad support across the state and across ideologically lines in what some have called “the best campaign ever”. Six Term Congressman Charlie Bass is making fun of Ann for being a “Bold Progressive”. We can’t afford to go back to 1995 and failed congressional oversight of Charlie Bass. Contact John Greene  to Volunteer for Ann Kuster

Paul Hodes would be a breath of fresh air in the US Senate. Kelly Ayotte would vote to repeal of much of the historic legislation we have passed in the past two years, and do everything she can to slow or stop progress on President Obama’s agenda for the next two. If you worked to elect President Obama, you should work even harder to elect Paul Hodes. We need him in the Senate, not another anti-choice Ideolog like Kelly Ayotte. Contact Cynthia Lander to Volunteer for Paul Hodes

John Lynch has served our state well over the past six years. His leadership has allowed steady progress towards a more progressive New Hampshire. John Stephen’s agenda? “Join the other states in the lawsuit to fight ObamaCare’s unfunded mandates and intrusion into inpidual rights”. Contact John Jarvis to Volunteer for John Lynch

Molly Kelly has worked hard for District 10 over the past 4 years providing leadership on Education and the Budget. District 10 is critical to maintaining a Democratic Majority in the Senate in this important redistricting year. Tom Eaton is (once again) attempting to regain the seat he lost in 2006. District 10 voters know we can’t go back, and must move forward to confront the issues facing our state. Contact Josh Sabato to Volunteer for Molly Kelly

The four campaigns noted above all have professional staffers working cooperatively out of our campaign office space on 67 Emerald St and are actively recruiting volunteers to fill phone-banks and canvasses.

Will you sign up with one of them to be a part of the equation for Democratic Victory on November 2nd?

We hope you will stop by the office later today for our “Office Warming Party” and perhaps sign up for a shift (or 5!) with the campaign of your choice. We are expecting a special guest and light appetizers will be served from 5:30-7:30.

5 weeks to go… Let’s get it started!

  • The Bradley Advantage
Concord Monitor The version passed by the Senate yesterday does not change the intent of the House's bill, just its wording. Sen. Jeb Bradley, a Wolfeboro Republican, said it clarifies that no "natural" person's income can be taxed to distinguish real people from corporations, which fall under the legal definition of person. Bradley and t […]
  • Anniversary of Special Election Victory
One year ago today, the voters of Hillsborough District 4 (Lyndeborough, Mont Vernon, New Boston, Temple and Wilton) went to the polls and elected me to represent them in the NH House.  Just six months earlier, they elected an all Republican delegation, headed by now Speaker Bill O'Brien. It only took a half a year of O'Brien's Republican majo […]
