With the New Hampshire Primary less than four weeks away, we are continuing to build our organization on the ground, adding new volunteers daily, and reaching out to supporters across the state. However, just four days after the Primary, our focus will shift to the remainder of 2012, starting with the selection of delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte next September.

In 2008, people from all walks of life got involved in the political process for the first time. From high school students to retired service members, young Americans and retirees, delegates showed how the Obama campaign belonged to the grassroots. We want to continue that tradition in 2012.

Per the DNC rules and bylaws, New Hampshire will be electing 18 “district-level” delegates (nine from each CD) to the Convention on *January 14, 2012*. Each Congressional District in New Hampshire will hold a separate caucus:

– The First Congressional district will caucus at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College. – The Second Congressional district will caucus at the IBEW Hall in Concord.

The qualifications to run for delegate are simple. You must:

– Be age 18 years or older *by November 6, 2012.* * – Be a registered New Hampshire voter in the congressional district you vote in. – Vote for the Democratic candidate you pledged to support in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary on January 10th, 2012.

* To clarify, you are eligible to run for delegate as long as you will be 18 years old by Election Day, November 6th, 2012.

Please note that *no individual is guaranteed a spot as a delegate*.

If you are interested in running for district-level delegate, please fill out the application found on the NHDP website:http://OFA.BO/NHDelegate. One of the rumors flying around has Keene being broken up into slices like a pie and paired with other smaller towns around the county to destroy the traditional Keene Democratic voting block as well as the Walpole Democratic voting block.

If at all possible, a nice trip to Concord to swell the crowd and tell Rep Mirski and his committee that this is just not going to fly would be a good thing to do on Thursday afternoon. Check out

Speaker O’Brien is up to his shenanigans again, but we are ready for him. He has called yet another special House session so we must be ready for him to call the veto over-ride vote on HB 474 the so-called Right to Work bill. We are asking folks to go to the State House in Concord on *Wednesday, November 30th* to show your support for the veto and to encourage our friends to stand with working families and the middle class.

Check-in will be between 7:00 and 7:30 am at the America Votes office (there will be coffee!) at 4 Park Street and be prepared to stay for as long as you are available. The speaker has scheduled an early gavel, so even if you can only come for an hour or two you can make a difference because the legislators will see the faces of the people they are affecting as they arrive for the session. We know that the speaker wants to claim victory on this vote, *but we won’t let him! *

*Greater Boston Labor Council Rally for November 22nd at Senator Kerry’s Office in Massachusetts Cancelled*

Tomorrow’s rally at Senator Kerry’s office has been cancelled since the Super Committee (formally known as the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction) was unable to come to any agreement on deficit reduction.
