STATE HOUSE ROUND UP  Sue Ford

Dear Friend,

Congratulations to our newest Representative-Elect Kari Lerner! On Tuesday, September 26th, Kari defeated Jim Headd in the State Representative special election 901-862 (50%-48%) in Auburn, Chester and Sandown, the 4th-most Republican district in New Hampshire. In 2016, Donald Trump won this district by 23 points. This win comes in a district with 20 percent more registered Republicans than Democrats.

New Hampshire Democrats have now won five of seven special elections in 2017, four of them coming in Republican strongholds. These successes would not have been possible without the hard work of great candidates and so many volunteers who knocked on doors and made phone calls to thousands of voters statewide. Thank you to everyone who came out to ensure that Democrats win these special elections!

With more special elections on the calendar and municipal elections just four weeks away, now is the time to get involved! We need to make sure we are electing Democrats into every office! We need your help to make sure we are building a strong bench heading into the 2018 Midterm Elections.
