Who are the Cheshire County Democrats?

Cheshire County Democrats

Our mission is to promote the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party in Cheshire County, in

our state and in our country by helping to elect Democrats up and down the ticket. We also strive to

be an active voice and partner in the community for issues and values we stand for.

Meetings are always held the first Tuesday of the month, unless there is a significant conflict.

Activities:

 Oversee/organize canvassing and phonebanking for every election, including training,

scheduling, data entry and follow-up

 Oversee/organize GOTV (Get Out the Vote) for every election

 Fundraise for local Democratic candidates and for joint advertising for all Democrats

 Host seminars, workshops and retreats, with relevant speakers of interest when applicable

 Organize rallies (haven’t this year, do not want to duplicate other efforts) or participate in

rallies that uphold our values

 Host/organize community events

 Recruit and train potential candidates

 Host political panel discussions

 Host meet-the- candidate and talk-to- your-legislator events

 House field organizers and out-of- state volunteers short- and long-term

 Secure housing for field organizers and out-of- state volunteers

 Find, set up, and organize a central office for elections

 Find, set up and organize field offices for elections

 Represent Cheshire County at State party (NHDP) meetings, events, U.S. Senate events,

U.S. Congressional events

 Attend NHDP trainings

 Attend periodic information sessions at NHDP

 Attend/support/sponsor State Committee Meetings and Conventions

 Add input to State Party rules, including challenging the rules

 Organize to send candidates for DNC delegate slots (won 2 last year, first time in 24 years)

 Hold monthly meetings with speakers

 Volunteer every month to serve the hot meal at The Community Kitchen

 Volunteer for community events

 Phonebank on off-election years to help Democratic candidates in other states

 Maintain/ update Facebook, Twitter, and website accounts to disseminate information
